A Look Back-How I Got Started In Internet Marketing
I started online marketing two years ago as a complete newbie and my first website was NewbieMarketerOnline. That website has totally changed since I first built it, and at that time it was a simple one page site I constructed following Chris Farrells methods. It wasn’t much but it was the beginning of a great journey. Building that one page site, and the results I got from it, was all the proof I needed to convince “myself” that it was possible to earn money online.
I jumped into the ‘deep end’ of Internet Marketing when I got started and very quickly experienced “information overload.” This is very common and happens to many beginners because as newbies, you really don’t have a clue as to what you’re doing. All you know is it “appears” to be really, really easy to make money. Right? I mean, that’s what everybody is telling you so of course it must be true. I wasn’t prepared for the overwhelm I would experience.
My first three months trying my hand at Online Marketing was a real test of will, commitment and my personal resolve to figure this stuff out. I was floundering, doing a little bit of this, a little of that and oh yeah,,, don’t forget to try this too. Everything was all jacked up and I didn’t seem to be getting anywhere.
Looking back on it now I understand precisely what I was doing wrong. It’s simple. I had unbridled enthusiasm but no “game plan.” My resolve to make it work was solid and there was no way I was going to quit, but………. the frustration!!! I was trying to do one hundred things at once and didn’t understand the importance of getting laser focused on “one thing.”

I have niche sites which generate income and have also expanded with a web design company in Albuquerque building web sites for local business and getting them first page rankings in Google.
I’m also currently in the process of putting together my own product on how to build websites using WordPress. Affiliate marketing works and is a great place to start but your ultimate goal should be to market your own products down the line once you’re ready.
